Overview

The WCS-2 is part of the next generation of substrate monitoring for temperature, EC, and water content. 

TrolMaster’s WCS-2 Water Content Sensor is specifically designed to measure the water content data (percentage), temperature, and the EC of the grow media in the Aqua-X, Aqua-x Pro, and Hydro-X Pro Control System. 

Each WCS-2 sensor includes a five-prong sensor assembly connected to a LCD communication module (Display Screen & Button). To use the WCS-2, the five prong sensor is inserted into the grow media such as soil or rock wool to be measured. Normally placed horizontally about ⅓ of the way up from the bottom of the grow media container or rockwool block.  You can connect multiple Water Content Sensors (up to 50 WCS-2 on the NFS-2 and HCS-2 controllers, 8 on the NFS-1 controller). The NFS-2 screen will display the value of the 3 parameters (grow medium temperature, moisture level and EC) of each individual sensor.   

When using TrolMaster’s free TM+ app, you can see the water content %, temperature, and EC of the grow media on your Smartphone. You can view historical data graphs on the app and also receive notifications if the WCS-2 readings exceeds your highest or lowest alarm settings.

    Overview

    The TrolMaster WCS-3 Water Content Sensor 3 is specifically designed to measure the moisture level (in percentage) of the grow medium. The WCS-3 can be used with the TrolMaster Aqua-X (NFS-1), Aqua-X Plus (NFS-3), Aqua-X Pro (NFS-2), Hydro-X Pro (HCS-2) and Tent-X (TCS-1) control systems. Each WCS-3 sensor is a 3-prong Volumetric Water Content (VWC) sensor. To use the W CS-3, you will insert the 3-prong sensor into the grow medium such as coir , soil or rock wool to be measured. You can connect multiple Medium Moisture Sensors to a single controller. Up to 5 0 WCS-3 can be connected to the NFS-2 and HCS-2 controllers, 20 o n the NFS-3, 8 on the NFS-1 controller, and 1 o n the TCS-1 controller. *NOTE: The TCS-1 can only have a single WCS-3 connected. Each WCS-3 features a built-in LCD display on one side of the sensor that becomes “live” and can be viewed when the sensor is shaken or disturbed. The display will show the current VWC% reading right on the sensor.

    Overview

    TrolMaster's WD-1 water detector can be used in one of two ways. First, it can be used to simply monitor the floor or space for water as a leak-detector. The other way the WD-1 can be used is as a water-verification monitor. When used in this way, the water detector is placed where runoff will accumulate (or where water is being introduced to the growing medium).

    Each output (solenoid or pump) on the Hydro-X/Aqua-X can be “assigned” to a specific WD-1. Every time the solenoid or pump assigned to the WD-1 is activated by the Hydro-X/Aqua-X, the WD-1 must detect water within an adjustable delay time. If water is not detected (pump or solenoid failure) the Hydro-X/Aqua-X will send out a user alert notifying of the “irrigation failure”.

    Up to 25 WD-1 can be connected to a single Hydro-X/Aqua-X.
